Division E Under 10s

Fairlands Youth 2 Biggleswade 1

Fairlands under 10 div E had a good start to the season with a hard fought match against a very physical Biggleswade team . The jump in match duration from 20 minutes a game to 40 minutes showed in the second half as the boys were beginning to feel the pressure . Both our goals came in the first half with the first after 3 minutes and the second after 19 minutes . There were two scares in the first half with a terrific save needed to keep out a super shot and some good cover goalkeeping forcing the second shot wide , hitting the far post . The boys worked hard throughout the first half and came off buzzing . The second half saw Biggleswade pile on the pressure from the start needing further saves and determined defending to stop them from scoring . We made a couple of substitutions to add fresh legs and managed to contain the pressure until the last couple of minutes when they eventually broke free and slotted home their goal . We managed to hold on to the end and came off 2 - 1 winners . Man of the match for his excellent performance setting up both goals and defending really well at the other end was Liam . The whole team worked hard and I was well pleased with the result , well done to you all .
